Welcome to the Uttoxeter Chess Club website.

I am currently out to "gauge" interest in starting a possible  Chess club in Uttoxeter.  Uttoxeter has grown tremendously in the last ten years, so I do believe that there will be enough interest.  There are Chess Clubs in Stafford/ Rugeley and several in Stoke on Trent, but as far as I am aware, there is nothing in Uttoxeter.

The Chess season is currently underway, so no league decisions could be taken before the start of next season (October 2007).  With Uttoxeter being where it is, the club could be in the North Staffordshire, or the Derby Chess league.

I have set no time limit on the  opening of the club.  I wanted to see if there was enough interest to warrant a Chess Club in Uttoxeter.  This website has been online for nearly 12 months, and in that time only 3 people have shown any real interest.   

The club would welcome players of all abilities, rated or not.  I fully realise, that a lot of people play chess for fun, whilst some, want to play in the league.  Whatever your Chess fix is please get in touch.
